For nearly 30 years, from 1990 to 2017, Space World was a beloved symbol of the Kitakyushu area. After its closure, THE OUTLETS KITAKYUSHU, managed and operated by AEON MALL, opened in 2022.
At CENTER (with Kasahara leading the project since a previous role), we conducted initial market research during the development phase to identify key challenges in differentiating the facility by leveraging both regional characteristics and tourism appeal. We also supported the realization of the shopping mall concept, "Meet Amazing Emotion"—a place where the senses come alive and connections are made," as part of the shopping center and merchandising (SC・MD) strategy.
